Dr. Sunbeck
earned her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 1980 after being
awarded a full scholarship. On completing her doctorate, she was invited
to be the University of Rochester’s first staff psychologist for the
Clinical Psychology Department’s newly founded Mt. Hope Family Center
for at-risk children. She has taught at St. John Fisher College,
Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Rochester.
Dr. Sunbeck is the creator and
author of “Infinity Walk”, an all inclusive sensorimotor multi-tasking
training method that develops academic and life success-readiness skills
throughout the life span from the preschool years to the golden years of
advancing wisdom.
A
second strong interest of 30 years is behavioral medicine. In the
mid-1980's Dr. Sunbeck was honored as the only American psychologist to
be personally invited to study spontaneous remission of illness
alongside one of Brazil’s most documented and medically authenticated
faith healers of the 1980's. Her extensive understanding of how beliefs
and perceptions allow or hinder physical and emotional health, academic
and career success, and every life choice, provides a solid foundation
for a gentle yet dynamic therapeutic process for positive change.
